2014 Chardonnay

Lively aromas of star fruit, anise, and hazelnut lead into hints of orange zest, Meyer lemon meringue, Asian pear and subtle minerality on the mid-palate. A bright band of citrusy acidity carries through to the finish, which shows reoccurring notes of pear and Meyer lemon.

2014 Rosé of Syrah

This year,  we co-fermented the syrah with a little viognier, and we think the result is spectacular! Exciting aromatics of jasmine, orange rind and rose water. On the palate, flavors of fresh strawberry and watermelon lead into mouthwatering acidity and spice notes.

The 2014 White Mith is 75% Roussanne and 25% Viognier. Lively and full bodied with aromas of Asian pear, gardenia, honeysuckle and orange blossom. 2011 BalBOA Constrictor

Aromas of ripe cherry and plum with hints of game and damp earth. Full bodied on the palate showing pomegranate and cranberry notes leading into blackberry with lingering acidity, and firm tannins. 

This wine was created to replace the Cat’s Meow and the Sayulita labels. The name was the brainchild of Sam Price (son of master sommelier Thomas Price) and the artwork was done by Tom’s lovely daughter, Amelia Mary Glase. Aromas of ripe cherry and plum with hints of game and damp earth. NEW RELEASE 2013 Grenache (Ringside Club Only)

The 2013 Grenache is a Ringside Club Exclusive.  Ripe and expressive with strawberry, raspberry and black cherry notes, intertwined with white pepper and wet stone minerality.  Elegant and polished on the palate with ripe blackberry, hibiscus, and cherry leading into a rich silky finish.

Vineyard: Summit View Vineyard, Walla Walla Valley

Varietal: 100% Grenache, 100 Cases Produced

Hand harvested grapes were sorted and fermented in small open top stainless steel tanks with 20% whole clusters.  the cap was punched down 2 times/day.  The wine was gently pressed and trasferred to barrels to complete secondary fermantation.  The wine was aged sur lie for 14 monthes in French Oak.

2012 Cab/Petit Verdot Co-Ferment (Ringside Club Only)

2012 Mith

This wine originated in 1998 and is a collaboration between Mike Sharon (L’Ecole 41) and Tom Glase. This wine has always been a proprietary blend and the 2012 is no different. Intense aromas of blackberry, bing cherry and damson plum with scents of sandalwood, sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla bean and cocoa. Continues on the palate with layers of dark fruits, bittersweet chocolate and basaltic minerals. Reveals notes of roasted berries, dried cherries, and mocha leading to an oak, spice and herb accented balanced tannin finish.

Generally, our wines are released when we believe them to be ready to consume; however all Balboa wines will benefit from additional time in your cellar. Every Balboa wine will age differently, as many factors, including the growing season, varietal characteristics,  and winemaking decisions, will all determine how the wine ages. Additionally, one must determine the characteristics that they enjoy in wine and age their wines in accordance with their preferences.
