2017 White Mith

Lively and full bodied with aromas of Asian pear, gardenia, honeysuckle, golden apple and jasmine. Notes of ripe peach and white pear lead into stone fruits with balanced acidity and lingering minerality.

2016 Chardonnay

Expressive aromas of ripe stone fruits, oyster shell, apple blossom and meyer lemon. The palate shows flavors of tropical fruits, light barrel notes, granny smith apple and flinty minerality.

This 100% Syrah embodies the characteristics of the “Rocks District” of Milton Freewater, where it was grown. It delicately balances black fruit, herbs, and “Rocks” minerality on the palate, finishing smoothly.

2015 Mourvèdre

Deep crimson-ruby colored, this wine emits a rich, spicy, smoky nose of wild
blackberries, huckleberries, black currants, mulberry, tobacco, spiced incense
and cracked pepper. The flavors mirror the aromatics with deep, penetrating
dark fruits that are intermixed with licorice, bittersweet chocolate, Sumatra
roast and Red Mountain scorched earth. The back picks up roasted berries
and nuts, mocha, toffee and burnt charcoal, followed by a long spiced and
herbed sweet-dry tannin finish.

2015 Pandemonium

Expressive notes of black pepper, violets, sage, blackberry, olive tapenade and
forest floor aromas. The palate is rich and velvety with ripe currant and
raspberry, purple plum, dark chocolate and savory game notes. Polished fine-grained tannins and bright acidity on the lengthy finish.

2015 Sangiovese

A dusty, earthy nose leads into notes of bright red fruits and red plum. The
palate shows tart cherry and strawberry balanced with savory notes of dried
herbs, violets, dried roses and tomato leaf.

2014 Cabernet Franc

Deep ruby colored, it emits aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum, dried roses, cedar, tobacco, rosemary and incense. The flavors are medium bodied, yet thick and chewy, intermixed with red licorice, cocoa, black tea and minerals. The back picks up pressed berries, framboise and kirsch liqueurs and graphite, followed by a slightly herbal (cardamom, sage) moderate tannin and acid finish.

2014 Grenache

Ripe and expressive with mountain strawberry, raspberry and dark cherry notes braced upon orange peel and clove. Elegant and polished on the palate with juicy fruit flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry and cranberry balanced upon vanilla and crème brûlée leading into a rich, silky finish.

2014 Grenache – Syrah – Mourvèdre

This is the first time we’ve made a GSM, and we are really excited about it. Notes of leather, espresso, black pepper, blackberry, olive, and pie cherry. The palate displays flavors of ripe dark fruits, blueberry, orange peel, and savory game notes balanced upon Walla Walla earthiness.

2014 Estate Malbec

Our Estate Malbec opens with dark raspberry, ripe strawberry and French roast coffee. The palate transitions to blackberry, ripe red fruits with black peppercorns with floral undertones. Rich, dark and intense with lingering tannins and balanced acidity.

2014 Merlot

2014 Red Wine

2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a deep, direct and classically styled 100% Cabernet. It shows a deep ruby color and an intense nose of blackberry, dark cherry and black currant with scents of crushed roses, bayberry, tobacco, sandalwood and smoldering incense. The flavors, as well, are bold and well-structured, marked by notes of licorice, dark chocolate, French roast and “Rocks” cobblestones and earth. The back reveals sensations of macerated berries, roasted chestnuts, toffee, crème de cassis and graphite, all leading into a lingering ripe sweet-dry tannin finish. -Rand Sealey Review of Washington Wines

2013 BalBOA Constrictor

The 2013 Constrictor exhibits aromas of dark raspberry, blackberry and currant with damp earth notes. The palate opens with flavors of dark cherry, ripe raspberry and blackberry cobbler with undertones of espresso and cocoa braced upon long lingering tannins and bright acidity.

2013 Mith

Opens with aromas of dark fruits, including blackberry, black cherry and currant with baking spice and dried herbs. Continues with red and black fruits, showing blackberry, dark raspberry and chocolate covered cherries balanced upon vanilla and sweet tobacco. The palate transitions into a balanced finish with smooth tannins and lingering minerality.

We believe that when you choose to enjoy Balboa wine is a matter of personal preference. However, customers often ask us how long they can cellar our wine. Generally, our wines are released when we believe them to be ready to consume; however all Balboa wines will benefit from additional time in your cellar. Every Balboa wine will age differently, as many factors, including the growing season, varietal characteristics, and winemaking decisions, will all determine how the wine ages. Additionally, one must determine the characteristics that they enjoy in wine and age their wines in accordance with their preferences.
